Nina Nemeth, A Mixed Media Artists/Painter, received her B.F.A. from Southampton College, L.I.U. and her M.F.A. from Pratt Institute, N.Y.C. She has worked as an atelier assistant to Yoshi Higa (Weston press). She has also worked as studio assistants/intern to Thomas Allen (illustrator, Sag Harbor, NY) and Michael Knigin (Fine Artist, Circle Gallery, NYC). Nina is a working artist as well as an art instructor. Locally she teaches at Morris County Art Association, The Morris Museum, & serves on the Board of Directors at Morris County Art Association. As a lifelong artist, Nina has always been drawn to the design elements of a subject, particularly to the results of what texture, line, shape, color and spatial relationships present to the viewer. these details are sometimes overlooked in our daily lives.
Nina enjoys working in as many different media as possible; her artistic style has been described as vividly colorful and wonderfully textural. More recently, she has been exploring collage, painting, drawing, and mixed media. The Landscape Series includes Beaches, forests and urban scenes; these have been a particular source of joy, the idea is to always let the materials lead… never a specific goal in mind, but rather a direction that is inspired by the materials and the moment, the results are multi-layered and textured. The process involved in making the artwork makes the journey as meaningful and fulfilling as the final outcome.
