What do 70 South Gallery and superstars Prince and Bruce Springsteen all have in common?
The answer is Roberto Rabanne. A thoughtful, edgy, and provocative photographer, Roberto has been capturing Rock and Roll and Fashion personalities such as Prince, Mohammad Ali, Jerry Garcia, Lady Gaga, Jimi Hendrix, Madonna, Andy Warhol, Rihanna, Bob Marley, Bruce Springsteen and Supermodels Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Cindy Crawford, Christie Turlington, and Linda Evangelista—for four decades.
The exhibit is entitled Revolutionary Reflections, and it celebrates these cultural icons, rebels and disruptors of our generation. His collection is named Photoplasticity: when Fashion meets Music. Additionally, Roberto has pushed the medium of photography by placing his images on non-traditional media such as sound walls, skateboards, plexiglass, fabrics and even—chocolates! Some are embellished with diamond dust and other mixed media. Come check it out!
Exhibition from November 18, 2016 – January 31, 2017
